What is the Syncamatic Outlook Connector?
The Syncamatic Outlook Plug-in is a software that can synchronize your Outlook's Contacts, Calendar, Notes and Tasks with your BlackBerry. The plug-in software currently supports Microsoft Outlook version 2007 and 2010.
The download link and instructions to install can be found here.
Yes, if your computer currently runs the Microsoft Windows operating system(2000, XP, Vista, or Windows 7) and if you have Microsoft Outlook 2007 or Outlook 2010 installed.
Will it sync with my iPhone or WindowsMobile?
Currently the Syncamatic Outlook Plug-in only supports the BlackBerry smartphone.
Getting started
How to configure my Syncamatic account?
After you have installed the Syncamatic Outlook Plug-in, open Outlook and select "Tools" menu -> "Syncamatic" -> "Preferences".
At the "Login" tab, enter your Syncamatic ID and password. Click "Test" to make sure you can login to the Syncamatic server.
When finished, click "OK" to save your settings and go back to Outlook.
How do I synchronize for the first time?
Once you can successfully login with your Syncamatic ID and password, you can proceed to synchronize your Outlook for the first time by selecting "Tools" menu -> "Syncamatic" -> "Synchronize Now".
When synchronizing for the first time, Syncamatic may detect that your Outlook application and your BlackBerry contain the same data for Contacts, Calendar etc. This is called a duplicate.
If you use Microsoft Outlook as the primary application to keep your address book, calendar, tasks or notes, you can choose the "Replace duplicates with items from Outlook" option.
If your data is more up-to-date on your BlackBerry, you can choose the "Replace duplicates with items from my BlackBerry" option.
If you wish to synchronize the duplicated items and manually view/edit/delete them, you can choose the "Allow duplicates to be created" option.
Syncamatic does not show up in my Outlook Tools menu
If you are sure you've installed the Syncamatic for Outlook Plug-in correctly (make sure it appears in Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs), and Syncamatic still does not appear in your Outlook "Tools" menu, you probably need to change Outlook's security settings to enable the add-in. To do this,
- Go to Outlook, select "Trust-Center"
- From the left panel, select "Add-in"
- Near the bottom, click "Manage COM Add-ins Go"
Here you can select which Plug-in to be enabled when Outlook runs.
If the problem persists, you should try uninstalling the Syncamatic Plug-in from Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs, and re-download from our website again.
Running the connector
What is the "Sync Settings" tab?
The "Sync Settings" tab allows you to select and unselect which type of data to be synchronized. The "Notes" in Microsoft Outlook will be synchronized with the "MemoPad" in BlackBerry.
What is the "Auto Synchronize" option?
The "Auto Synchronize" tab allows you to define when and how frequent the Syncamatic Outlook Plug-in runs.
What is the "Sync Immediately" option?
When checked, changes made to Microsoft Outlook will be pushed immediately to the Syncamatic cloud servers.
What is the "Sync at Startup" option?
When checked, Syncamatic will attempt to synchronize with the servers when Outlook is launched. This will pull the latest changes made while Microsoft Outlook was not running; however, this may slow down the start-up speed of Outlook.
What is the "Auto Run" option?
When checked, you can specify how often the Syncamatic Outlook Plug-in connects to the Syncamatic cloud servers and synchronizes.
